Episode #75

Welcome to Episode 75 of the Blue Light Leavers Podcast Today, I've got the absolute privilege of talking to Anna Allerton.

As a former journalist and producer, she enjoyed a 17 year career at Sky Sports in varying senior roles with the most prominent in founding and producing the sportswomen program.

An industry leader in women's sport journalism throughout her career, she's been hugely influential and at the forefront of the changing landscape for women's sport on screen and in the newsroom.

She now specialises in perimenopause and menopause because she knows firsthand what impact it can have on your career.

Soon after returning to work after having a second child at the age of thirty nine, A variety of perimenopause symptoms started to deeply impact her day-to-day life. These became progressively worse and impossible to manage as time went on.

Now research suggests that up to 1,000,000 women have changed their roles or quit their jobs because of this, and she is one of them.

She's deeply passionate to do whatever she can to support women, their partners, and their employers during this time to raise awareness, educate and encourage collaborative conversations in the workplace.

In this episode, we talk about signs and symptoms and the impact on confidence and self esteem, and we discuss what you can do to help yourself, what you can do as a partner and how to have a conversation with your employer,.
